Faith Statement

Wow, what do I believe?  Big question.  In a formal doctrine sense the Apostle Creed would pretty much sum up my faith.

I believe in God, The Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.  From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the church universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Looking at the Apostles Creed and in reading the Bible we see that God went through great lengths to clear a path between Him and us, but why? Regardless of the value or lack of value we put on humanity God desires to be with us.  I believe God desires to know us and to be known by us both individually and collectively.

In my ecumenical exposure I have found that even though the “church” was designed to be the educational institute of the Body of Christ and purposed with guiding people through a new paradigm of living in God’s Kingdom and then on to God, oftentimes people only made it to the church.  In church they gain clinical or classic Christian education and join in traditions, but never learn how to cultivate a personal relationship with God.

In my ministry I would like to help individuals explore finding God personally.  I believe relationship, connection, a sense of value and validation in God are pure pieces that are missing from the puzzle of life and can help a person feel free and whole.
