Assignment: Cultivating Godly Wonder
Wonder Wow this journal assignment brings back memories of some amazing experiences. 1. An experience of wonder that you had outside of ministry, whether as a child or more recently. My earliest personal memory of God was as a little child at prayer time. Prayer time for me was like the opening of wonderland. I would say my prayers then climb into bed, yet it was if I was let out to play. Saying my prayers, at night, initiated play time for me and Jesus/God. The specifics are not clear, but the overarching feeling was comfort, value, belonging and acceptance. The way God looked at me and indulged me I knew I was loved and prized. God and I played long, we played hard. We would run and jump, play in the dirt, play marbles roll down grassy hills and pick wild flowers yet I was in bed. Play time with God was amazing. This experience with God is dear and precious to me and shared hardly ever. Many years later when I encountered that sense again I knew I found my home /
